What you will leave with

  • Signal inventory A ranked list of metrics that matter commercially, with vanity traffic parked aside.
  • Weekly pack template One narrative structure for product, finance, and support reviews.
  • Limitation awareness Clear notes on what your brief cannot claim without tenant-level tags.

Guided by Imani Cole, former analytics lead for a London API platform.

Modules

Week 1 — Inventory without vanity

Audit authenticated vs anonymous volume, strip bot paths, and define a value-path filter for your stack.

Week 2 — Latency as a business band

Translate p95 and timeout clusters into customer-visible friction stories, not just SLO charts.

Week 3 — Quota burn and plan fit

Connect soft-limit approaches to expansion risk and under-utilised seats.

Week 4 — Tenant scoring drafts

Build a lightweight health score from retries, feature endpoints, and support-linked error codes.

Week 5 — Live critique of your pack

Present a full weekly brief; peers and faculty stress-test claims against missing dimensions.

Instructor

Imani Cole spent eight years translating platform telemetry for commercial teams across GB fintech and logistics APIs. She teaches with sample datasets from anonymised gateways and insists every claim names its blind spot.

Office hours available for GB evening cohorts.

Learner notes

“Week 3 forced us to admit our ‘power users’ were mostly webhook retries. Awkward, then useful.”

— Marcus T., Cardiff · ★★★★☆

Anonymous product manager in payments: the templates saved prep time, but expect to fight for better tenant labels before month two.

FAQ

Do I need SQL?

Comfortable filtering CSV or warehouse exports helps. We do not teach query languages from scratch.

What tools do you assume?

Any gateway or APM that can export authenticated call counts, status codes, and latency percentiles. Spreadsheet skill is enough for the studio exercises.

What is a real limitation of this course?

If your platform cannot attribute traffic to tenants or plans, the health scoring module will stay illustrative. We document that gap instead of inventing confidence.

Is payment handled on this site?

No. Pricing is informational. Enrolment conversations go through contact.
